Mission - Opportunities

Commitment to Mission

Acts 16:30 - Then he brought them out and said, "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?"

When you engage in mission whether in Staines High Street or the jungles of Borneo you need to be on the lookout for open doors and open hearts. Regardless of location, we need to ask God for opportunities to share Jesus. Once you do this keep your eyes open, he will do it!

For the apostle Paul, everywhere he travelled was a potential mission field. In today's passage, Paul and Silas are in prison and rather than moaning they are praying and singing.

About midnight there was a great earthquake and the prison was shaken, all the doors opened and the prisoner's chains fell off. It shocked the jailer to his core, so much so he asks "What must I do to be saved?".

You are going to meet people who have had experiences that have drawn them towards God, life-shaking events like the jailer. So keep your eyes and ears open, watching and waiting for these people. When the opportunity arises... share the gospel!

always be prepared to make a defence to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; 1 Peter 3:15

Daily Bible Reading: Acts 16:25-34

Prayer: Father, as you soften peoples hearts, make us attentive to those who you have already began working in. We ask Lord that you would open doors and show us these people as we want to spread the good news of Jesus. Amen.
