Church - The Bride

Commitment to Church

Revelation 19:5-9 - The wedding of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready.

I love a good wedding! It's nice to get dressed up, make our way to the church and watch a man and a woman declare their love for one and other. The bride carefully makes herself radiant and beautiful, dressing in white as a symbol of her purity. The husband eagerly awaits his bride to walk the aisle. Vows are made, the party ensues and finally, husband and wife come together as one flesh in the consummation of their marriage.

It's no wonder that the church is described as the bride of Christ. The church is preparing for the return of Jesus, who is coming to claim his bride and be united with her forever.

The bride (the church) will be dressed in white, stained brightly by her deeds of obedience and love for her husband. No wedding in human history will compare to the ceremony when Jesus comes to claim His bride! It's majesty, glory and pageantry will be on an entirely different level to even the grandest of royal wedding.

Being committed to church means we are committed to the marriage supper of the Lamb (Jesus). We eagerly await Christ's return to take his bride. Are you looking forwards to being part of this ceremony?

Daily Bible Reading: Ephesians 5:25-27, Revelation 19:5-9

Prayer: Father, we pray in the name of your Son. As His bride the church we want to be adorned in holiness, purity and love for the husband Jesus. Help us Lord, to be without spot or wrinkle. Let our commitment to personal holiness and purity spread into the church, so she is radiant and beautiful. Amen
